Look Ma – Two at once! Just in case, I don’t make it as a preacher, I can always work in a restaurant!

Today’s Devotion – Starts with this by Max Lucado

Many people tell us to love. Only God gives us the power to do so.-

We know what God wants us to do. “This is what God commands…. that we love each other.” (1 John 3:23)

But how can we? How can we be kind to the vow breakers? To those who are unkind to us? How can we be patient with people who have the warmth of a vulture and the tenderness of a porcupine? How can we forgive the moneygrubbers and backstabbers we meet, love and even marry?

How can we love as God loves? We want to we long to. But how can we?

How? By living loved.  — Lucado

People ask me… Why is it so important to go to church? If you read the Lucado devotion you see one huge reason right away. We know that we are supposed to love others but that is not so easy. People hurt us, talk behind our backs, betray us, lie to us, steal from us and if the truth be known… we too have been guilty.

The answer according to Lucado? By living loved. What does that mean? It is what faith is all about. The more we work at living our lives as children of God, the less impact the hurts of others will have upon us. This is never more true than at times like this. Christmas adds immeasurably to the hurts caused by others.

How can we love as God loves? By living loved. Trusting God. Focusing on God.

Why is it so important to go to church? Living loved has to be learned and it can only be learned by deepening your relationship and your dependence upon God.

How can we love as God loves? We want to we long to. But how can we?

How? By living loved.

God is amazing!! God’s grace is amazing.

Remember — Live loved!!
